Choose Antigua when the aesthetic is harbour and sailing, or when you want a British-linked island that is not Barbados’ Platinum Coast. Choose Barbados for denser west-coast resort lawns and UK flight habit. Choose Saint Lucia for Piton drama and dual-airport complexity.
V. C. Bird arrivals bunch in the afternoon. A 5pm welcome at English Harbour on the same day as a long-haul landing is how grandparents miss the toast. Build a recovery night or a harbour-view drinks hour that can slip. Nelson’s Dockyard and marina venues add security, tender timing and historic-site rules that a north-coast hotel lawn never sees. Your planner should have a supplier access window in writing with the marina, not a hope that the florist’s van ‘usually gets through’. Yacht-arrival ceremonies also need a Plan B if the boat is late: a dockside holding area with shade and water, not a silent wait on a hot quay.
