Twelve chairs is not an 80-room hotel package
All-inclusive wedding packages are unlocked by room nights. A complimentary arch that requires twenty-five occupied rooms is a group contract, not an elopement product. If your list is twelve, you will either pay for empty rooms or you will be told the ‘free’ ceremony is not available. That is not a negotiation failure. That is the hotel package working as designed. Intimate celebrations usually live in villas, boutique inns, or a hotel restaurant buyout without a group block. Read the all-inclusive guide if you are still tempted by a complimentary gazebo. This page is for the couples who already know the list will not fill a corridor.
- Night math before floral math
- Intimate lists often fail resort minimums
- Walk away from a block that needs a fictional guest count
Where small lists actually fit on this map
Turks and Caicos houses, Cayman waterfront inns, Grenada estates, Saint Lucia Piton terraces and Antigua harbours are built for small numbers. Jamaica’s West End cliffs and Barbados parish houses can be intimate if you do not accidentally sign a Montego Bay resort contract. Dominican east-coast mega-resorts can host two people, but the weekend around you will still be a weekly gazebo factory. Mexico’s Caribbean coast and Puerto Rico appear in the same Pinterest boards; they are different legal markets and are not on this matching map. Elopement is a guest-count word. It is not a legal word. You can elope with a registrar or elope with a photographer only.
- Villa islands first when the list is under twenty
- Mega-resorts can host two people and still feel like a factory
- Elopement still needs a legal-versus-symbolic sentence
Write the weekend in one paragraph
Name the number. Name who is in the room: witnesses only, parents, or a twelve-person dinner. Name whether you need a locally binding marriage or a blessing after you marry at home. Name the airport the two of you can actually use, not the airport your cousins would have used in a different wedding. Name whether you want a house with a cook or a hotel with a quiet restaurant. That paragraph is the brief. Magazines sell ‘intimate’ as a font. Planners cannot quote a cliff until the paragraph exists. If parents will join at the last minute, the number is not two. Update the paragraph before you pay a villa deposit that sleeps eight and then invite twenty.
- Headcount as a digit, not ‘intimate-ish’
- Witnesses versus a family dinner are different productions
- A house that sleeps eight is not a spare ballroom
Privacy is a property rule, not a mood
A cliff can still have a hotel path above it. A villa terrace can still have a neighbouring house. Ask who else will be on the lawn, whether the beach is public, and what happens when a cruise-day crowd appears. Small weddings are ruined by other people’s sound systems more often than by missing chandeliers. Independent planners who work houses should talk about sightlines and generators. Coordinators on resorts should admit when the gazebo is a shared slot at 3pm. If you need true privacy, you are probably hiring a house and a planner, not a complimentary arch.
- Ask who else has the lawn that hour
- Public beach is a permission product
- Shared gazebo slots are not elopements with a caption
When a small wedding still needs independent matching
Two people and a hotel officer can sometimes be a coordinator job. Two people plus a cliff, a boat, a house cook and a registrar appointment is a planner job. We independently source against that brief. We do not publish a ranking of elopement specialists. Start a wedding profile when the weekend is a house, a harbour or a second location. A small guest list is still one chance to get the planner right—before you book the cliff path.
- hotel package plus two people: maybe the hotel desk
- House, boat or second location: an independent planner
- Matching starts after the headcount paragraph exists
Common questions
Questions couples ask
What counts as a small Caribbean destination wedding?
On this page, two to about twelve people in the ceremony room. Twenty is already a different production. Eighty is the package article. Write the digit; ‘intimate’ is not a headcount.
Can we use a free resort wedding package for an elopement?
Only if you still meet the room-night minimum, which most two-person trips will not. Ask for the current threshold in writing. If the hotel package needs a fictional block, buy a restaurant table instead.
Do we still need a planner for a two-person wedding?
Not if a hotel officer and a restaurant are the whole product. Yes if a house, a boat, a cliff path or legal marriage paperwork has to be sequenced from overseas. Put that split in the job before you pay anyone.
Which islands suit an elopement?
Several, once the legal product and the airport are named. Villa-led islands often fit better than mega-resort corridors. Shortlist two places, then open a profile. We will not publish a ranked elopement table.
Should we marry at home and celebrate with two people in the Caribbean?
Often yes. That hybrid is honest and usually simpler. The island event is then symbolic unless you also complete a local legal marriage. Write both products so family do not argue about the certificate later.
